Most American Airlines fliers to see little impact

(AP) ? For most of the 240,000 passengers who fly American Airlines each day, the airline's bankruptcy filing should have little noticeable impact.

American continues to operate flights, honor tickets and take reservations. It says its frequent-flier program will be unaffected.

Some travelers may eventually see fewer American flights at their airport. The incoming CEO said American would probably reduce its flight schedule "modestly" while restructuring in bankruptcy court. But that would continue a strategy in place at American and other airlines in response to high jet fuel prices.

The real risk to American's passengers is if the restructuring fails, the airline ultimately liquidates and ceases to fly. Even then, many travelers are protected if they bought tickets with a credit card.

Delta, United, Continental and US Airways have all gone through Chapter 11. Travelers continued to book tickets. Planes still took off and landed and frequent flier miles were still earned and redeemed. In fact, the bankruptcy process is usually more taxing on the airline's shareholders, who tend to get wiped out. Or on workers, who can lose pay and benefits, and even their job.

Still, some American travelers were nervous on Tuesday.

"I would definitely be less likely to book with them. I would be afraid they'd be less likely to keep their flights," Corina Fallbacher said after landing home in Chicago on an American flight from Orlando.

American is the nation's third-largest airline behind United Continental Holdings Inc. and Delta Air Lines Inc. It operates out of five major hubs in New York, Los Angeles, Dallas/Fort Worth, Chicago, and Miami. It has major international partnerships with British Airways and Japan Airlines.

Steve Varraso, 39, an event planner who had flown from Boston to Chicago's O'Hare, said he was slightly concerned about his frequent-flier miles on American. But Varraso and other frequent fliers shouldn't worry. Eastern Airlines, Pan Am and Trans World Airlines all ceased flying but miles in their programs were transferred over to other airlines that bought some of their assets. TWA miles actually went into American Airlines' frequent flier program, AAdvantage.

"Miles are safe," said Gary Leff, co-founder of frequent flier site MilePoint. He said the bankruptcies of past airlines "are instructive." He even suggested there might be some promotions to keep loyal travelers.

American has prided itself on having avoided the bankruptcy process. But that left American with higher labor costs than its rivals, a major reason it continues to lose money while they are again earning profits. American spends $3,008 on salary and benefits for every hour each of its 600 planes is in the air, according to Vaughn Cordle, chief analyst with AirlineForecasts. United spends $2,801, Delta $2,587 and US Airways $1,991.

Those labor costs, along with a 40 percent jump in fuel expense, contributed to AMR's $162 million loss in the third quarter despite higher airfares. Delta and United, meanwhile, had a combined profit of $1.2 billion.

Bob Boyd was briefly a pilot for American after getting out of the military. At Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport on Tuesday morning, Boyd was surprised to hear that American hadn't already solved its financial problems.

"I thought the union issues were behind the company. I had heard fares would go up to compensate for lost revenue, so this is extremely surprising," he said.

One way that American and other airlines have controlled costs is by reducing passenger-carrying capacity. That's done by cutting flights or using smaller planes on some routers. Thomas W. Horton, who was named the new CEO of American's parent company, AMR Corp., said fliers can expect some modest capacity cuts in the future. Passengers whose flight is canceled or moved because of a schedule change will be rebooked.

Many travelers are aware that American was in financial difficulty and that bankruptcy court provides a way to for it to get back on its feet.

Bob Rowberry, 59, of Salt Lake City, flew American to Chicago for business Tuesday morning. Waiting for his luggage, he said the bankruptcy filing will help American keep from going under.

"Until they do (go out of business) I'll continue to fly with them."

Non-Fried Fish Might Help Ward Off Alzheimer's: Study (HealthDay)

WEDNESDAY, Nov. 30 (HealthDay News) -- Eating baked or broiled fish as little as once a week may boost brain health and lower the risk for mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease, new brain scan research suggests.

The study authors found that eating baked and broiled fish -- but not fried -- helps to preserve gray matter neurons, strengthening them in areas of the brain deemed critical to memory and cognition.

"Those who eat baked or broiled fish had larger brains," noted study author Dr. Cyrus Raji, a resident in the department of medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Mercy Hospital. "They had larger brain cells in areas of the brain responsible for memory and learning. And the reason that's important is that these brain areas are at high risk for Alzheimer's disease."

In those people with larger brain volume, "the risk for Alzheimer's and mild cognitive impairment went down by fivefold within five years following the brain scans we conducted," he said.

Raji said he was "amazed" that this effect was seen with eating fish as little as one to four times a week. "We're talking about just a half serving a day," he said. "And that would be a very small lifestyle change that can affect disease risk a long time down the line."

Raji and his colleagues are slated to discuss their findings Wednesday at the annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America, in Chicago.

More than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease, an incurable, age-related disorder that slowly destroys memory and thinking and language skills. Older adults with mild cognitive impairment have less severe memory loss than those with Alzheimer's but often go on to develop the disease.

To assess the impact of fish on cognitive health, the authors focused on 260 mentally healthy elderly individuals drawn from the Cardiovascular Health Study, sponsored by the U.S. National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute.

All the participants underwent 3-D MRIs, so the researchers could map out the size of each individual's gray matter and track it over 10 years. They also completed the U.S. National Cancer Institute Food Frequency Questionnaire.

The team then stacked up gray matter changes against dietary consumption as reported in the questionnaire.

The questionnaires revealed that 163 of the study participants ate fish at least once a week, with most consuming fish between one and four times a week.

With that information, the authors found that regardless of age, gender, physical activity routines, and/or educational achievement, race or weight, those who ate baked or broiled fish had larger mass in the hippocampus, precuneus, posterior cingulate and orbital frontal cortex regions of their brains.

The team further observed that people who ate baked or broiled fish weekly displayed better so-called "working memory," enabling them to more effectively execute routine tasks.

But fish and chips lovers, take note: No cranial benefit was evident with respect to consumption of fried fish.

The team cautioned that while eating baked and broiled fish appears to exert some cognitive benefit, other lifestyle and socioeconomic factors may play a role. For now, the connection must be viewed as an association, rather than a cause-and-effect.

Dr. Richard Lipton, vice chair of neurology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City, reiterated the point.

"One has to wonder if there are other factors associated with fish consumption that they didn't measure that might be protective," he said. "Like maybe people who eat fish exercise more, or eat less total calories. Or they could be eating other components of a Mediterranean Diet, such as fruits and vegetables."

Lipton added that "this group of researchers is really, really good," and called the study results "a very interesting finding, and absolutely worthy of further exploration."

Research presented at scientific meetings should be considered preliminary until published in a peer-reviewed medical journal.

Conn. sees Internet tax delayed after legal fight

Posted: 6:00 pm Mon, November 28, 2011
By Associated Press

HARTFORD, Conn. ? Connecticut?s revenue commissioner said Monday he?s advised state lawmakers to forget about $9.4 million in revenue from Internet taxes as the state digs in for what could be a long legal fight.

Kevin Sullivan, commissioner of revenue services, said in an interview with The Associated Press that Connecticut is not pursuing sales tax collections from Amazon since the online seller reached a compromise with California delaying expanded online tax collections until at least September. But it will pursue other larger online sellers, he said.

?We?re not going to focus on Amazon because it would send the wrong message to Amazon for taking a huge step,? he said. ?It makes sense to pick on someone else.?

Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot made a similar recommendation in a Nov. 4 letter to Gov. Martin O?Malley and legislative leaders.

Chasing the nearly $200 million in sales tax that goes uncollected by online retailers would generate between $20 million and $40 million under a best-case scenario, he wrote. Amazon has fought such efforts in other states in court, through ballot initiatives and by severing business relationships with in-state affiliates.

Revenue lost in Maryland due to online sales is expected to grow to $243 million by next fiscal year and $327 million a decade from now.

Connecticut, Sullivan said, will ?probably move Overstock and eBay to the head of the class.?

Representatives of Amazon, eBay and Overstock did not immediately respond to email and phone messages seeking comment.

The so-called Amazon tax was included in budget legislation signed in May by Gov. Dannel P. Malloy. It requires Internet retailers to collect tax on sales generated through website affiliates.

Sullivan said the issue ultimately will be resolved in ?some sort of settlement or some sort of legal challenge.? The loss of $9.4 million represents a lot of money but is a tiny portion of the state?s two-year $40.1 billion budget, he said.

Still, the stakes are potentially high for Connecticut, which is demanding that Internet companies collect the state?s 6.35 percent sales tax. Monday was ?Cyber Monday,? which has grown increasingly popular. Last year, it was the busiest online shopping day ever, with sales of more than $1 billion, according to research firm ComScore Inc.

A record 122.9 million Americans are expected to shop on the day, up from 106.9 million who shopped on ?Cyber Monday? last year, according to a survey conducted for?Shop.org.

Last month, Connecticut officials said Amazon wrote the Department of Revenue Services, saying it?s not obligated to abide by state law requiring Internet sellers to collect state sales taxes. It said it does not have a physical presence in Connecticut and does not have to collect and remit taxes to the state.

Amazon struck a compromise with California that delayed the expanded online tax collections until at least September, giving Amazon and other retailers more time to lobby Congress for a federal law that would authorize states to require sellers to collect sales taxes of goods to in-state customers regardless of a seller?s location.

Sullivan said federal legislation would eliminate objections by Internet sellers to collect and pay the sales tax.

?This would be the coup de grace for any opposition,? he said.

One good way to entertain your family during the holidays is to take them to see The Muppets, the latest (and long-awaited) film to feature that familiar gang of puppets, starring Jason Segel (Forgetting Sarah Marshall), who co-wrote the script with Nick Stoller (Sarah Marshall director and fellow collaborator from the Judd Apatow camp). I cannot, for the life of me, imagine how Segel convinced the Walt Disney Company to give him the responsibility of reviving the franchise (their last film, Muppets from Space, came out in 1999). But they must certainly be patting themselves on the back now. Segel, Stoller, and director James Bobin (Da Ali G Show, The Flight of the Conchords), offer us a fun, old-fashioned, comical adventure, as well as a sweet and touching tribute to the Muppets.

The plot initially revolves around brothers Gary (Segel) and Walter (who is, by some genetic miracle, a Muppet) who visit the old, abandoned Muppet studio only to discover that Tex Richman (played strangely by Chris Cooper), as the name might suggest, has an evil plan to tear down the studios and drill for oil! Walter, the Muppets #1 fan, alerts Kermit to Richman?s motives. Not surprisingly, the only way to raise enough money to keep the studio is to get the gang back together for one more show.

Muppet make-over: Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy reintroduced this fall

Why do the Muppets seem to disband after every film? Well, because watching them find each other again is half the fun. Miss Piggy is now some big wig at the Paris Vogue office. Gonzo is a toilet business magnate. And poor Fozzie is doing renditions of Kermit?s famous song, ?Rainbow Connection,? with look-a-like band, the Moopets. No worries ? we get to hear the real ?Rainbow Connection,? along with a bunch of new and instantly catchy songs, throughout the movie.

Syracuse's Boeheim gets warm welcome in Dome (AP)

SYRACUSE, N.Y. ? Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim received a standing ovation as he walked onto the court that bears his name on Tuesday night for the Orange's game against Eastern Michigan.

Boeheim waved to fans as he made his way out from the locker room and then greeted first-year Eastern Michigan coach Rob Murphy, who served as an assistant to Boeheim for seven years.

Boeheim, in his 36th season, received a huge round of applause when he was introduced after the players.

It is the first game for fourth-ranked Syracuse since the firing of assistant coach Bernie Fine, who has been accused by three men of molesting them. Fine has denied the allegations.

Fine's seat on the bench was not left vacant Tuesday as it had been for the last home game 10 days ago.

Palestinian PM: Israeli sanctions starting to bite

Palestinian officials said Sunday they won't be able to pay upcoming public-sector salaries that support nearly one-third of Palestinian families in the in the West Bank and Gaza, the clearest sign yet that Israeli economic sanctions are starting to bite.

Israel last month stopped the transfer of tax revenues and other funds it collects on behalf of the Palestinians, retaliation for the Palestinians' successful bid for admission to the United Nations' cultural agency UNESCO, which was part of a larger effort to gain admission as a state in the world body.

Israel says a Palestinian state should be established through negotiations, and it accuses the Palestinians of acting unilaterally to bypass peace talks.

The monthly transfers of about $100 million, along with hundreds of millions of dollars a year in foreign aid, are crucial for keeping the government of Western-backed Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas afloat.

Abbas' prime minister, Salam Fayyad, said Sunday that he won't be able to pay upcoming salaries, which are due in the first week of December.

He said the continued suspension of the tax transfers "has both an immediate impact on the lives of all employees and their dependents, some 1 million people ... (and) has a devastating indirect impact throughout the whole economy."

The Palestinian Authority is the biggest employer in the Palestinian areas, with tens of thousands of civil servants and security forces.

U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Tony Blair, envoy of the Quartet of Mideast mediators have urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to resume the transfers.

An Israeli official said Sunday that Israel suspended the transfers temporarily to express its concern over the conduct of Abbas and his government, mainly his quest for recognition of Palestine.

The Israeli official said Israeli might make decision to withhold the money permanent if Abbas sets up a unity government with Hamas, the Islamic militant group that controls Gaza. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the issue with reporters.

A reconciliation agreement between Abbas and Hamas chief Khaled Mashaal calls for an interim unity government that would prepare for May elections, but it appears unlikely it will be formed because of disagreements over who should lead it. Hamas strongly opposes Abbas' candidate for the job, the West Bank-based Fayyad, who is popular with Western donors.

A senior Hamas figure said Abbas and Mashaal quietly agreed in a meeting last week to keep their separate governments in place until elections. Abbas told Mashaal that the two-government status quo was "convenient for both sides and any change might be costly," according to the Hamas figure. who spoke on condition of anonymity because the leaders did not make their decision public.

Abbas envoy Azzam al-Ahmed denied there was a quiet agreement on shelving the interim unity government and insisted there is "no possibility of holding elections without a unity government."

Keeping the existing governments in place would help Abbas avoid a Western backlash and continue the flow of international aid to his government. Western powers fear a unity government, even one composed of technocrats without clear political affiliations, would be heavily influenced by Hamas, which is not internationally recognized.

Top Hamas official Moussa Abu Marzouk said that it was at least possible to skip an interim government and head straight to elections. The Hamas statements suggested that a solution was being finessed to get around the disagreement over keeping Fayyad.

Also Sunday, Gaza farmers began the seasonal export of produce to Europe.

Israel has banned most exports from Gaza since Hamas seized the territory, but has permitted seasonal shipments of strawberries, cut flowers and other agricultural goods.

A truckload of strawberries left Gaza to launch the season, which is to run through May.

The number of exports is well above last year's levels.

Before the Hamas takeover, 85 percent of Gaza's outgoing goods were sold in Israel and the West Bank, according to Gisha, an Israeli human rights group that lobbies on behalf of easing Palestinian travel restrictions.

According to Gisha's statistics, about 83 percent of Gaza's factories are idle or operating at 50 percent or less capacity. Unemployment is officially listed at 28 percent.

Zynga Builds Its CastleVille Walls, As Its Facebook Traffic Flattens And Falls

Screen Shot 2011-11-27 at 12.29.07 PMNew Facebook game CastleVille is one of Zynga's fastest-growing titles ever, as it announced a few days ago.?That's good news for the company, but maybe not good enough when you consider its overall traffic trajectory on Facebook, and its plans for an initial public offering as soon as next week. After launching in the middle of November, the medieval role-playing simulation title has grown to?6.9 million daily active users?today, currently the third-highest out of any Zynga game on Facebook. Overall, the developer has a total of 49.5 million daily actives on Facebook, according to Inside Network's?AppData?application tracking service. It's still by far the largest of any Facebook developer, but it has been falling from its peaks in previous months and years. Up until CastleVille launched, its games had been drifting down over the last 30 days from 48.2 million DAU. And bigger picture, the company's Facebook DAU had been 59 million in the second quarter, and had already fallen to 54 million in the third. In previous amendments to its filing, Zynga had said these changes were due ?to a decline in players of our more mature games and a limited number of new game launches in the first nine months of 2011.?

NFL roundup: Panthers down winless Colts

Indianapolis (AP) - Cam Newton threw for 208 yards and ran for one score and DeAngelo Williams scored twice Sunday to help the Carolina Panthers hold off the winless Indianapolis Colts 27-19.

The Panthers (3-8) ended a 12-game road losing streak by winning outside Charlotte, N.C., for the first time since Dec. 27, 2009 when they beat the New York Giants.

Newton was 20 of 27 and carried nine times for 53 yards. Williams ran 15 times for 69 yards including the game-sealing score -- a 2-yard TD run with 10:23 left in the game.

The Colts dropped to 0-11 for the first time since 1986 and have lost six home games in a season for the sixth time in the Indianapolis era.

Curtis Painter was 15 of 29 for 226 yards with one TD for the Colts and threw two late interceptions in the end zone, ending any hopes of a comeback.

Oakland, Calif. (AP) -Sebastian Janikowski kicked a team-record six field goals and the Oakland Raiders took advantage of three interceptions from Chicago's fill-in starter Caleb Hanie to beat the Bears 25-20 Sunday.

Carson Palmer threw for 301 yards and Michael Bush iced the game with a touchdown run in the fourth quarter to lead the Raiders (7-4) to their third straight win against a Bears team missing starting quarterback Jay Cutler.

Hanie struggled in his first career start in place of Cutler, who broke his right thumb last week in Chicago's sixth straight win to put a major obstacle into what had been a promising season for the Bears (7-4).

Philadelphia - Tom Brady threw for 361 yards and three touchdowns and the New England Patriots beat the Philadelphia Eagles 38-20 Sunday in a rematch of the 2005 Super Bowl.

Filling in for the injured Michael Vick for the second straight game, Vince Young couldn't keep Philadelphia's fading playoff hopes alive despite a career-best 400 yards passing. The Eagles (4-7) are all-but-mathematically eliminated from playoff contention in a season that began with Super Bowl expectations.

Angry fans made their feelings known about coach Andy Reid, chanting "Fire Andy!" in the second half.

The defending NFC East champions fell to 1-5 at home and have lost eight of nine at the Linc, including a playoff loss to Green Bay last January.

___

FALCONS 24, VIKINGS 14

ATLANTA (AP) ? Matt Ryan tossed three touchdown passes and Atlanta held on again.

The Falcons (7-4) were up 17-0 at halftime after allowing just 97 yards. But, mimicking the previous week's closer-than-necessary victory over Tennessee, they let Minnesota (2-9) back in the game.

Toby Gerhart, filling in for injured Adrian Peterson, scored from the 1 late in the third quarter. Then, after Dominique Franks inadvertently touched a punt the Falcons were trying to avoid to set up a Vikings recovery, Christian Ponder went to Percy Harvin for a 39-yard touchdown pass on fourth-and-13 to make it 17-14.

But Ryan responded with a 3-yard scoring pass to backup Michael Palmer, and the Falcons held on downs after Harvin's 104-yard kickoff return to the Atlanta 3.

___

TEXANS 20, JAGUARS 13

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. ? Matt Leinart injured his throwing shoulder, overshadowing Houston's victory against the offensively inept Jaguars.

Arian Foster ran for 65 yards and a score, Leinart delivered a perfect touchdown pass to Joel Dreessen before leaving the game and the Texans (8-3) sacked Blaine Gabbert six times. It was good enough for their fifth consecutive win, which moved Houston a little closer to clinching the AFC South.

But Leinart's shoulder could be a serious setback.

The Texans already lost starter Matt Schaub for the season with a right foot injury. Now, they are down to T.J. Yates and newly signed Kellen Clemens.

Yates completed 8 of 15 passes for 70 yards in relief of Leinart, doing just enough to help the Texans beat the Jaguars (3-8).

Jacksonville benched Gabbert in the fourth quarter. Luke McCown led the team to a late field goal, but his fourth-down pass with about a minute remaining fell incomplete.

JETS 28, BILLS 24

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) ? Mark Sanchez threw four touchdown passes, including the winning score to Santonio Holmes with just over a minute remaining.

With the Jets trailing 24-21 and facing a third-and-11 from the Bills 36, Sanchez connected with Plaxico Burress, who made an impressive one-handed grab for the first down. Sanchez quickly ran a quarterback sneak and then, on the next play, rolled out to his right to buy some time and found Holmes alone in the right corner of the end zone to give the Jets the lead with 1:01 left.

The Jets (6-5) entered the game with many players saying they need to win each of their last six to make the postseason. They overcame a valiant comeback attempt by the Bills (5-6), who have lost four straight.

___

CARDINALS 23, RAMS 20

ST. LOUIS (AP) ? Patrick Peterson tied the NFL record with his fourth punt return for a touchdown this season, Beanie Wells set a franchise mark with 228 yards rushing, and Arizona won its seventh in a row in St. Louis.

Wells averaged 8.4 yards per carry on a career day that included gains of 71 and 53 yards. The latter set up Jay Feely's go-ahead 22-yard field goal with 4:12 remaining. Rookie Sam Acho also had a career day on defense with two sacks and a fumble recovery for Arizona (4-7), which did enough to overcome another awful outing by John Skelton, who threw two interceptions.

Brandon Lloyd's 16-yard TD catch from Sam Bradford tied it at 20 with 7:46 to go. Nick Miller had an 88-yard punt return in the first quarter for the Rams (2-9) only three days after he re-signed with the team.

TITANS 23, BUCCANEERS 17

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) ? Chris Johnson ran for a season-high 190 yards, and Matt Hasselbeck threw a 2-yard touchdown pass to Damian Williams on fourth-and-2 with 3:01 left.

The Titans (6-5) forced five turnovers and overcame four turnovers of their own. The Bucs outscored them 14-3 off mistakes even though Tennessee got the ball three times on Tampa Bay's side of the field.

But the Titans got the ninth and final turnover of the game when rookie linebacker Colin McCarthy intercepted Josh Freeman with 2:19 left.

The Bucs (4-7) lost their fifth straight even with LeGarrette Blount running for 103 yards.

Freeman threw for 199 yards and a touchdown, but he had an interception and lost a fumble. He also fumbled the snap on fourth-and-1 before being tackled with 40 seconds left to seal the Titans' victory.

BENGALS 23, BROWNS 20

CINCINNATI (AP) ? A.J. Green made a leaping catch for a 51-yard gain in the final minute, setting up a field goal that rallied Cincinnati.

The surprising Bengals (7-4) stayed right behind Baltimore and Pittsburgh in the AFC North with another second-half comeback forged by their rookie big-play combination.

Andy Dalton threw a high down-the-middle pass that Green went way above the defenders to grab. Green was run out of bounds at the 2, and the Browns (4-7) forced Cincinnati to settle for Mike Nugent's 26-yard field goal with 38 seconds left ? the Bengals' first lead of the game.

For the second time in three games, a botched snap cost Cleveland a chance to take a late lead. Phil Dawson was short on a 55-yard try with 1:51 left after the snap skipped along the ground, giving Cincinnati its last chance.

Activision's "Skylanders" may face retail shortage (Reuters)

NEW YORK (Reuters) ? People looking for Activision Blizzard's (ATVI.O) new children's game "Skylanders" this holiday season may be out of luck after the game sold better than expected, the video game maker's top executive said on Monday.

Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick said that there could be a shortage of the game at retail outlets.

"(Skylanders) are in high demand. Retailers are across the board are concerned that they will be out of inventory well before Christmas," Kotick said. "I've heard that consistently now from both within stores and from senior executives in stores that they are concerned they will be out of inventory."

Kotick said Activision might not be able to replenish supplies of the game in time to take advantage of the holiday rush.

"There's nothing we can do because they are made offshore and we can't get product made that quickly," Kotick said.

The news comes at a time when investors and analysts have expressed concern that Activision is too dependent on its top franchises "World of Warcraft" and "Call of Duty." Investors sold shares following the company's quarterly financial results call after "World of Warcraft," its most profitable business, lost 800,000 subscribers.

"Skylanders," which hit store shelves in mid-October, is a video game that comes with physical toys that spring to life on screen when they are hooked up to consoles such as Microsoft's (MSFT.O) Xbox or Sony's (6758.T) PlayStation. A chip inside the figurines stores a player's achievements and progress in the game.

Activision has heavily marketed the new products, which are aimed at 6- to 10-year-olds, a demographic dominated by Nintendo.

In the past, Activision has shut down or scaled back poorly performing franchises such as "Guitar Hero" to invest more in its proven successes.
